Hello,

Can't believe this is the end, time goes to fast.

As far as the scoring goes from unit three til now I would say that it has gone up a point. I have lots to work on and until I make it through the first hurdle I can't not say that I have improved. My biggest start was admitting I have issues and I need to work on them for myself and my family. It is time to follow my own advise. I have started working on my goal slowly. I have been moving the last month and that has put a lot of extra stress on my and my family. We all are on edge with each other and everything around us. Each day I try to take time to relax and do some deep breathing and refocus myself. I have my gym all set  up now so time to start exercising. No excuses any more. This class has been a great experience from me. It has showed me to look deep inside myself and it has let me see how much I need help and how unhealthy I really am. I am taking one step at a time to get healthy mentally and spiritually. Moving has finally starting to settle down it is time for me to get my lunch program ready for the school. The school I start at starts next Tuesday. If I am happy and healthy from the inside out then I can help others become healthy also. If I have been through all the things that my clients are looking for then I will be ale to help them more since I also have been there. I will be able to understand everything that they are feeling and going threw. One of the best things that has came from all of this is the fact that I am a lot more calmer at home with my family. We talk a lot more and yell a lot less and I feel happier. I wish everyone the best in their future dreams and goals. Always let the light of God be with you. I have found that it always helps.

Hi Everyone,

The past week has been so stressful with moving and finals. I can not wait for the house to be done. My set up did not turn out the way I wanted it to for this project.

My Wellness Plan

It is crucial for professionals in the health and wellness field to incorporate integral health practices into their own lives so that they know what is possible before they try to teach others. Dacher states that it is not only through book learning but through hands on experience that we become agents of a more expansive health.  By incorporating the integral process into our own lives we will discover the profound possibilities of integral health and healing.  We need to lead by example since our clients are not going to want to follow our direction if it does not seem that we are flourishing.  No one is going to take dietary advice from a overweigh person or addiction advice from a smoker.  You need to live it to help others learn it.  I need to work more on my psychological aspect of health.  I get stressed and very over whelmed a lot.  I find that I clench my jaws most of the day. I am hoping with more relaxation techniques that it will help me calm down and redirect my stress and anger. I will keep trying meditation, but does not seem to help me much. I have found that exercise and puzzles help me the most.

I would give myself a five for the score of physical wellness. I need to get into working out again. I was working out five days a week but just stopped because I got busy with the kids after school schedule and now I want to make it fit again. I miss the feelings that I got after a great workout.  I would give myself a 6 in the psychological wellness. This is because I have many issues with letting go and the past being the past with certain people. I am learning how to let go and move on. I put a lot of stress on myself with school, work, family and everything else. I need to do a better job of balancing everything. For the spiritual wellness I give myself a 4. I do not pray much nor do I go to church. I do believe in God and everything, I just don’t practice everyday.  I am very grateful person for my life and everything and everyone in it and I have worked very hard to be were I am. I have a big heart and I will help anyone that I can, but it always seems to come back and get me.

My goal to increase my physical well-being is start adding exercises into my daily life. I will start with walking or the elliptical and eat healthier and more than once a day. To increase my psychological wellness I would like to start adding visualization into my life. My goal for spiritual wellness is to take the time and thank God for my life and everyone in it. I can do this when I take my walk, or just some me time outside in nature. “Cultivating what brings us happiness, health and wholeness and abandoning what keeps us stuck in stressful and unproductive life patterns (Dacher, 2006).

The strategies I can use to foster growth in the physical domain are to set aside time for physical activity, devise a fitness plan and activate it, for my psychological domain; I will set aside time to relax my, mind each day so I can become more conscious of my own deficiencies and more positive towards other people by showing them Loving-Kindness, and for my spiritual growth I can increase my knowledge of Gods word and practice on how to live according to His word more effectively. I can surround myself with people who can lead me on how to accomplish this goal. I will also have to practice and be committed in order to obtain my goals in all areas.

Examples of physical exercises/practices I can do are walking with my puppy or the elliptical. I will implement this exercise by walking on the treadmill each day for at least half hour. For my psychological exercises/practices I can continue to use the CD by Dacher that goes along with this course or I can practice visualization. My spiritual practices/exercises will consist of reading the scripture daily and prayer.

I will know if I'm making progress by the way I feel about myself and others and how others respond to me in return. The strategies I can use to assist in maintaining my long-term practices for health and wellness are to continue to get my yearly physicals, proper diet and exercise daily, self evaluation and education and practice, practice, practice.

Hello Everyone,

What a busy past weekend and week. We had an adult weekend camping and tubing with friends now moving, which is a pain and had for us to find a place and finally did.

I will differently will be needing to do some relaxation exercises. Many times they do not work for me, but I have not giving up yet. I like the visualization one the best. Most of the time when I meditate I fall asleep.  Anything that lets me clear my mind and relax is great. I will keep trying on the loving kindness one and other types to see if anything works better for me. I will always keeping walking and letting go of everything in my mind when I walk. I will also keep going to my massage person to have reiki and craniosacral done. They are my favorite. My son and I will also keep trying new things as we both need to relax and calm our minds more. I can never give up.

Good Evening Everyone,

During my practice this week like usual I sit in my glider chair and rock as I close my eyes and ease everything out of my mind. I tried to connect with my grandmother who just turned 86 on friday. We are not very close but I hold much respect for her and love her dearly. I could not connect with her but I felt that with more practice that maybe I will be able to.

"one can not lead another where one has not gone himself" this quote applies to everything. We tell people how to be health, eat right and exercise but we can not tell them to do something that we know nothing about. Do not guide them down a path of meditation if you know nothing about it because it will not help them like it should and they will not benefit from it and it will make you look bad. You need to direct them to people who know about it. I do believe that we have an obligation to our clients because if we are not in the right state of mind and healthy psychologically, physically and spiritual how can we expect the patient to take us seriously. We need to be there for them 100% of the time. It comes back to the saying "one can not lead another where one has not gone himself". How do we expect our patients to follow our lead if we do not do what we preach. In my life I can implement these by focusing, staying calm and being relaxed, believing in myself and following my own path. Once I am complete and whole then I can help others. I will keep doing my relaxation techniques to also help with this.

I am not so sure this is the best week to do this but then again it probably is because I have a lot going on and the stress is beyond my head. Doing the loving kindness is hard for me because I hold a lot a hatred in my life and I have not learned to let go of it. I never forget and I do not forgive. To wish everyone happiness and wholeness is very hard for me. Many have done me wrong and I usually wish nothing but bad for them. I know I know its not the right thing to do. They say forgiveness is everything and I would feel much better. For the assessment I need to work on my psychospiritual, biological and interpersonal. I am usually in survival mode in life and I need to work on being more spiritual. I need to believe and trust. My biological well lets just say I need to learn to eat more than once a day and stick to me exercise. My interpersonal I need to work on myself and how i see myself along with my family. My family is not close at all but they are all I have in life. To get to the point that I will be happy with who I am, I will need to take time out of the day for myself, start to pray and learn to forgive people. We all make mistakes, just hope everyone learns from them. Take one day at time, one step at a time. Nothing happens over night, just over time.

Hi
I do not have much to say about this mental fitness other than it was great. This Subtle practice was so much easier for me and I liked it much more. My son started to do it with me but he left to go take care of Sha so I could finish. What I experienced was a blank mind. I had no thoughts or images in my mind. For me this is very relaxing and reminds of me when I see my massage therapist. I couldn't have asked for a better relaxation at the end of my night.

To find spiritual wellness you have found the key to your wholeness. We all need to find our spiritual wellness and once that is found the mental and physical will fall into place. We can be physical fit all we want but if the mental and spiritual isn't there whats the point? The sooner we can teach this to our children the happier they will be and maybe will make for a better world with less crime.

Hi Everyone,

This heat is killing me, we need rain so bad. I can't remember when it rained last here maybe may.

Well in unit 4 I did not like our exercise. It honestly did not do a thing for me. I sat in my recliner with my kitty, tho I felt the stress reduce that was it. I have a hard time expressing my feelings and I never talk about them. When I was growing up feeling were never part of our everyday life. I can't remember my parents saying that they loved us or say it to each other. My son has all my love and I make sure he knows it and I tell him all the time. I think that I am not in the right state of mind yet for this exercise. I know that I will try it again when I think I am more mentally ready. I would tell people about it, but not everything works for everyone.

Mental workout to me means exercising the mind to stay healthy. Dacher says that it means utilizing contemplative  practices to help tame the mind's constant mental activities, train it along with opening one's heart, expanding consciousness and progressing towards psychospiritual flourishing. Research  indicates that the proven benefits of mental workout results in awareness and experiences of the mind and its many levels and capacities in healing and the development of the qualities of human flourishing which are health, happiness and wholeness.

Hello,

What a nice weekend. We watched some fireworks are Friday and just relaxed the rest of the weekend. For our post this week I would put my physical wellbeing at a 7 because I am active but not active enough, I don't eat enough; my spiritual wellbeing at a 5 because I am not connected with myself and my psychological wellbeing at a 3 because I am always messed up in the head with stress and depression. I have been fighting depression for the last 10 years. A goal for my physical wellbeing is to eat 3 times a day. I usually only it once or twice; goal for my spiritual wellbeing is to find myself and connect with myself, need to become one with myself and a goal for my psychological wellbeing is to find someone I can open up to and help me find the root to my issues in life. I plan on walking to help with the physical and that shouldn't be hard since we have a new puppy, who will need walking; I will try some meditation to find myself in the spiritual world and find some stress reliefs like deep breathing to clear my mind from things that are bothering and learning to let go. I found that the Crime of the Century was awesome. I got so relaxed that I actually started to doze off. Every time that we get to listen to relaxation talking it works on me. I become so relaxed and my mind clears for the next few hours. It is so nice. I need to listen to them more often. I hope everyone found it as awesome as I did.

Hi Everyone,

I found the relaxation to be great, specially after my day and weekend. My weekend was nonstop and today we went to the Dells for fathers day. Which was a lot of fun but I got hurt because of some kids so listening to the relaxation was a great stress relief in the AC. When I was listening to it, it took be to a whole different place where I forgot about my bruises and sunburn. I could just feel the stress leave my body, what a great feeling. I was in such a relaxed and good mood for the rest of the night. Thank you so much for having us listen to it. I hope everyone else had a good experience with it also.

Today was not as good as I wish it would have been. I was hoping Shannon was going to be coming home, but no isn't happening. My evening was a very sad evening. His actions has caused me lots of stress and pain. At times I do wonder if it is worth it and if I will ever love him. I hope he has learned that his actions affect more than just him, they affect me, my son and his daughter. Now he might lose his daughter that he fought very hard to get 50/50 custody. In the end everything works out for a reason.

Hope everyone had a good term.

The weekend was not a good weekend. Spent the whole weekend by myself, so I was bored. Today was a great day! I started my day off with seeing Shannon, then my son and I went out to lunch at TGIF in Madison, after lunch we went to the movies. On the way home got a call from Shannon's sister and she was going to be getting Shannon's daughter so we met them at the park for a few hours. Now home and just chilling for the night. Waiting for WWE Raw to come on. One of Colton's favorite shows. I will never understand that show, it's so fake but they have more fans then any other sport. Hope this week is a good week for Colton in school. So far the first three days were good and he likes his teacher this year. :) Have a good week everyone.

I am all done canning for know I believe. Finished up the salsa yesterday, only thing that might be left to do is tomato sauce. Our Amish friends have given us a recipe for it, but we need to go up to their store to buy a product to but in it.
Two more days and my son will be starting school. Where did the summer go? Feels like we have done nothing, because it has gone by so fast. I remember when I was younger the summer seemed to take forever and now the months fly by so fast.
If everything goes well in court on Thursday my bf will be coming home. I can't wait. I seems like he has been gone a lot longer than a month and half. Then we just wait for the next court date and hope that one goes just as well.

Friday, August 20, 2010

I had a great day yesterday. I got to spend the day with my Grandma and she taught me how to make Elderberry jelly. Now I can try it all on my own. I am also learning how to do a lot of canning this year. I have done pickles, pepper butter, dilly beans and next is salsa and tomato sauce and maybe some other kinds of jelly. Can't wait should be fun, I hope. Today, I finally get a chance to do some school work while my dad has my son, and tonight I get to go visit Shannon. It has been a very long week and glad it's Friday. Tomorrow I am thinking about taking my son to the horse polls and truck pulls at the fair. Hopefully the weather is good.

Friday, August 13, 2010

My little guy went with his dad today to polish the semi up for the big truck show in Waupun, WI. Unfortunately it started to rain and the night parade got cancelled. He is going back tomorrow for the whole day. Boys and their trucks/semis. Wonder if I'll ever get him to leave?

I am so sick of people who are adults and act like they are in high school. Just because you are unhappy doesn't mean you should try to ruin other peoples lives and marriages. Wish people would so grow up and mind their own life. I wonder why I never trust anyone in my life and why I like to have just a few good friends. I don't need a lot of people in my life to be happy. I don't want any drama in my life. Been there done that and no thank you never again.

Monday, August 9, 2010

Hi, I had a great weekend. My son and I went up north with some friends. Spent the day out on the lake swimming and water tubing. Colton (my son) tried knee boarding for the first time. He did really good for never doing it be for. He didn't get to far, but at least he tried. On the way back we went rock jumping. Wonder if we will catch up on our sleep. It takes a lot of you. I hope everyone has a great week.

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all are having a good week. Mine hasn't been to bad. I spent yesterday (wed) at the pool with my son. Had a blast. It has be humid here in Wisconsin so what a better place to be than the pool. Today (thurs) my new carpet came for my living room. It is like getting a new room. Now my house can be back to normal. My boyfriend has moved to another jail waiting for trail because he was revoked on probation. I just want him home. All of this can not be done soon enough for me. I have never had to deal with any of this before so it can be stressful at times. One day at a time. I hope everyone has a great weekend. See you all in class.

Hello Everyone,

What a weekend. I got to go with my dad to Arkansas to look at a dog. Long ride, we went down and came right back home. Left Friday night at 9:30pm and got back Saturday at 2:00am. I got to see some awesome sites.

And today(Sunday) I got to see my boyfriend even tho he is still in jail. :( If things go good he should he back home in Sept. As sad as it is to say I think this was a good thing for us. It gives us a chance to realize what we really want in life. We write back and forth every day which is letting us get to know each other on a different level. Do we ever really know someone?

Thursday, July 29, 2010

Spent the day at the pool with my son. Had a blast and got sun burned, all part of being at the pool. I came home to see that I got his registration papers for school. I can not believe that school will be starting in a month. Were does the time go? He will be in third grade. Growing up way to fast, before I know it he will be in middle school, then high school, then college and I'll never see him. When they are born we can't wait for them to grow up and start doing things on there own and then when they do start growing up we wish they were little again. We never win as parents do we?
