Hello,

Can't believe this is the end, time goes to fast.

As far as the scoring goes from unit three til now I would say that it has gone up a point. I have lots to work on and until I make it through the first hurdle I can't not say that I have improved. My biggest start was admitting I have issues and I need to work on them for myself and my family. It is time to follow my own advise. I have started working on my goal slowly. I have been moving the last month and that has put a lot of extra stress on my and my family. We all are on edge with each other and everything around us. Each day I try to take time to relax and do some deep breathing and refocus myself. I have my gym all set  up now so time to start exercising. No excuses any more. This class has been a great experience from me. It has showed me to look deep inside myself and it has let me see how much I need help and how unhealthy I really am. I am taking one step at a time to get healthy mentally and spiritually. Moving has finally starting to settle down it is time for me to get my lunch program ready for the school. The school I start at starts next Tuesday. If I am happy and healthy from the inside out then I can help others become healthy also. If I have been through all the things that my clients are looking for then I will be ale to help them more since I also have been there. I will be able to understand everything that they are feeling and going threw. One of the best things that has came from all of this is the fact that I am a lot more calmer at home with my family. We talk a lot more and yell a lot less and I feel happier. I wish everyone the best in their future dreams and goals. Always let the light of God be with you. I have found that it always helps.

The past week has been so stressful with moving and finals. I can not wait for the house to be done. My set up did not turn out the way I wanted it to for this project.

My Wellness Plan

It is crucial for professionals in the health and wellness field to incorporate integral health practices into their own lives so that they know what is possible before they try to teach others. Dacher states that it is not only through book learning but through hands on experience that we become agents of a more expansive health.  By incorporating the integral process into our own lives we will discover the profound possibilities of integral health and healing.  We need to lead by example since our clients are not going to want to follow our direction if it does not seem that we are flourishing.  No one is going to take dietary advice from a overweigh person or addiction advice from a smoker.  You need to live it to help others learn it.  I need to work more on my psychological aspect of health.  I get stressed and very over whelmed a lot.  I find that I clench my jaws most of the day. I am hoping with more relaxation techniques that it will help me calm down and redirect my stress and anger. I will keep trying meditation, but does not seem to help me much. I have found that exercise and puzzles help me the most.

I would give myself a five for the score of physical wellness. I need to get into working out again. I was working out five days a week but just stopped because I got busy with the kids after school schedule and now I want to make it fit again. I miss the feelings that I got after a great workout.  I would give myself a 6 in the psychological wellness. This is because I have many issues with letting go and the past being the past with certain people. I am learning how to let go and move on. I put a lot of stress on myself with school, work, family and everything else. I need to do a better job of balancing everything. For the spiritual wellness I give myself a 4. I do not pray much nor do I go to church. I do believe in God and everything, I just don’t practice everyday.  I am very grateful person for my life and everything and everyone in it and I have worked very hard to be were I am. I have a big heart and I will help anyone that I can, but it always seems to come back and get me.

My goal to increase my physical well-being is start adding exercises into my daily life. I will start with walking or the elliptical and eat healthier and more than once a day. To increase my psychological wellness I would like to start adding visualization into my life. My goal for spiritual wellness is to take the time and thank God for my life and everyone in it. I can do this when I take my walk, or just some me time outside in nature. “Cultivating what brings us happiness, health and wholeness and abandoning what keeps us stuck in stressful and unproductive life patterns (Dacher, 2006).

The strategies I can use to foster growth in the physical domain are to set aside time for physical activity, devise a fitness plan and activate it, for my psychological domain; I will set aside time to relax my, mind each day so I can become more conscious of my own deficiencies and more positive towards other people by showing them Loving-Kindness, and for my spiritual growth I can increase my knowledge of Gods word and practice on how to live according to His word more effectively. I can surround myself with people who can lead me on how to accomplish this goal. I will also have to practice and be committed in order to obtain my goals in all areas.

Examples of physical exercises/practices I can do are walking with my puppy or the elliptical. I will implement this exercise by walking on the treadmill each day for at least half hour. For my psychological exercises/practices I can continue to use the CD by Dacher that goes along with this course or I can practice visualization. My spiritual practices/exercises will consist of reading the scripture daily and prayer.

I will know if I'm making progress by the way I feel about myself and others and how others respond to me in return. The strategies I can use to assist in maintaining my long-term practices for health and wellness are to continue to get my yearly physicals, proper diet and exercise daily, self evaluation and education and practice, practice, practice.
