Hello Everyone,

What a busy past weekend and week. We had an adult weekend camping and tubing with friends now moving, which is a pain and had for us to find a place and finally did.

I will differently will be needing to do some relaxation exercises. Many times they do not work for me, but I have not giving up yet. I like the visualization one the best. Most of the time when I meditate I fall asleep.  Anything that lets me clear my mind and relax is great. I will keep trying on the loving kindness one and other types to see if anything works better for me. I will always keeping walking and letting go of everything in my mind when I walk. I will also keep going to my massage person to have reiki and craniosacral done. They are my favorite. My son and I will also keep trying new things as we both need to relax and calm our minds more. I can never give up.

Good Evening Everyone,

During my practice this week like usual I sit in my glider chair and rock as I close my eyes and ease everything out of my mind. I tried to connect with my grandmother who just turned 86 on friday. We are not very close but I hold much respect for her and love her dearly. I could not connect with her but I felt that with more practice that maybe I will be able to.

"one can not lead another where one has not gone himself" this quote applies to everything. We tell people how to be health, eat right and exercise but we can not tell them to do something that we know nothing about. Do not guide them down a path of meditation if you know nothing about it because it will not help them like it should and they will not benefit from it and it will make you look bad. You need to direct them to people who know about it. I do believe that we have an obligation to our clients because if we are not in the right state of mind and healthy psychologically, physically and spiritual how can we expect the patient to take us seriously. We need to be there for them 100% of the time. It comes back to the saying "one can not lead another where one has not gone himself". How do we expect our patients to follow our lead if we do not do what we preach. In my life I can implement these by focusing, staying calm and being relaxed, believing in myself and following my own path. Once I am complete and whole then I can help others. I will keep doing my relaxation techniques to also help with this.

I am not so sure this is the best week to do this but then again it probably is because I have a lot going on and the stress is beyond my head. Doing the loving kindness is hard for me because I hold a lot a hatred in my life and I have not learned to let go of it. I never forget and I do not forgive. To wish everyone happiness and wholeness is very hard for me. Many have done me wrong and I usually wish nothing but bad for them. I know I know its not the right thing to do. They say forgiveness is everything and I would feel much better. For the assessment I need to work on my psychospiritual, biological and interpersonal. I am usually in survival mode in life and I need to work on being more spiritual. I need to believe and trust. My biological well lets just say I need to learn to eat more than once a day and stick to me exercise. My interpersonal I need to work on myself and how i see myself along with my family. My family is not close at all but they are all I have in life. To get to the point that I will be happy with who I am, I will need to take time out of the day for myself, start to pray and learn to forgive people. We all make mistakes, just hope everyone learns from them. Take one day at time, one step at a time. Nothing happens over night, just over time.

Hi
I do not have much to say about this mental fitness other than it was great. This Subtle practice was so much easier for me and I liked it much more. My son started to do it with me but he left to go take care of Sha so I could finish. What I experienced was a blank mind. I had no thoughts or images in my mind. For me this is very relaxing and reminds of me when I see my massage therapist. I couldn't have asked for a better relaxation at the end of my night.

To find spiritual wellness you have found the key to your wholeness. We all need to find our spiritual wellness and once that is found the mental and physical will fall into place. We can be physical fit all we want but if the mental and spiritual isn't there whats the point? The sooner we can teach this to our children the happier they will be and maybe will make for a better world with less crime.

Hi Everyone,

This heat is killing me, we need rain so bad. I can't remember when it rained last here maybe may.

Well in unit 4 I did not like our exercise. It honestly did not do a thing for me. I sat in my recliner with my kitty, tho I felt the stress reduce that was it. I have a hard time expressing my feelings and I never talk about them. When I was growing up feeling were never part of our everyday life. I can't remember my parents saying that they loved us or say it to each other. My son has all my love and I make sure he knows it and I tell him all the time. I think that I am not in the right state of mind yet for this exercise. I know that I will try it again when I think I am more mentally ready. I would tell people about it, but not everything works for everyone.

Mental workout to me means exercising the mind to stay healthy. Dacher says that it means utilizing contemplative  practices to help tame the mind's constant mental activities, train it along with opening one's heart, expanding consciousness and progressing towards psychospiritual flourishing. Research  indicates that the proven benefits of mental workout results in awareness and experiences of the mind and its many levels and capacities in healing and the development of the qualities of human flourishing which are health, happiness and wholeness.
